I never did a comic con or the like.

When I was in jr. high or maybe a freshman in high school I worked at a comic store for a few hours a week. I wasn't into comics so much, mostly card collecting, but I kinda tripped into the job. We went to a comic convention in Columbus or Cleveland to sell comics. I worked the booth the whole weekend, but I don't think that there was anything more than the selling of comics, cards, and collectibles going on.

I'd be annoyed like you if I had to pay for every single appearance. I could see paying extra for personal meet & greets, photos, & whatnot, but other than that.....

Not only funny for the obvious, but in the local band community there's a disease called "LSD" ... lead singer disease. It's when the lead singer thinks their shit doesn't stink, has a "it's all about me" attitude, shows up late to gigs, skips practice without saying anything, etc etc. I'm sure a lot of the music they play features bands where the singer has LSD

Why are some Remington electric razors battery only? What’s the engineering advantage to that?

When my Norelco starts running slow, I plug it in and continue using it. Not so with the Remington. It won’t operate while charging. It’s a bit annoying in that regard.

I don't know anything about Remington, but that sounds ridiculous that you can't charge it and use it at the same time.

Anyway, according to Hendrik, Norelco is Dutch and so apparently I'm a supporter of that even though I don't really give a shit but whatever. I've only ever used Norelco electric shavers or trimmers.

But even with them, when the battery runs low while you're shaving, it can be a painful fucking experience. It's trying to cut your hair but it's really just like slowly ripping it out of your face because the 3 little fucking spinner thingies are rapidly losing power.

You guys know what I'm talking about right?

My Brauns have that feature.
I haven't used it since Covid though.
My Wahl beard trimmer has that feature too.
Can‘t say that I’m a fan.

If my hair grows too long (to the extent that it can anyway!) I use a Wahl trimmer, then go with Mach5 razors to finish the job.

This might belong in the 'man card' thread (I forget the name of it). But I've never shaved with a not-electric razor.

In my defense, I didn't have a dad around, the same one who, after having a stroke in his 70s, suddenly loves me and wants to talk all the time. But that's a whole nuther story.

My dad's been gone since I was 23, so I also had no fatherly advice on this. Using a Gillette Mach 3 with a little shave gel and warm water is pretty easy. It's not like the old barber's blade with that sharpening strap.

I used electric until I was about 40. I never asked my dad about how to use a razor. But when I met my wife, she showed me when I was dating her how to use a razor. I liked the feel more and never went back to the electric.

On the opposite end of that.... Every time I use a razor I just use warm water. I don't need shaving cream or anything anymore. I don't shave my whole face but when I shave around my beard warm water is all I need.

Cause I'm a man.

Hahahahaha

Dude your dad died when you were 23? That fucking sucks. You never talk about him. I talk about my dad like all the time to the point where it must be annoying for you guys around here.

Tell us something about your dad bro. I mean if he was cool or whatever, if he was a dick I'm not trying to push you.

I believe it was the "Picked a bad week to stop sniffing glue" thread where I layed-out my early adult life, covering my 1st marriage. It was early in that marriage when my father and then my mother died. Look it up.

More recently, we had the "Things your father taught you" thread, where I talk about my dad.
