Michael Che and Scarlett Johansson's husband are a good weekend update team. Those two are the only reason I ever watch modern SNL.
I view weekend update through the lens of Norm. Nobody could ever be better. Since Norm these two guys are the best and I would say Amy and Tina were second best.
Anyway, that seems like a product they made so they would get attention from SNL and various media outlets. Just so people thought about progressive soup for 2 seconds of their day, which is exactly what I'm doing right now. So good job progressive Mad Men.
Hope you caught the Christmas weekend episode, where they write jokes for each other to read. There were some jokes about ScarJo and roast beef, while she was actually watching from backstage.
Scar Joe's guy could have leaned more into the black voice but the fucking roast beef joke was really something after she just had his baby.
The two of them were on Stern at one point and talked about the first time they thought about joke swapping and Mr. Scarjo did not anticipate Che going all out with the racism like he thought it was going to be more playful and then all of a sudden he's reading these crazy cue cards.
A couple years back Che made him read a few jokes about a new Superman movie. Those we're super funny to hear come out of his mouth.
Weekend Update is all I watch. This week's started off really good, but whoa it went downhill HARD. That 'hear me out' segment made me cringe....I have to credit Weekend Update on SNL for making me aware of this:

I always fast forward through them having some guests on unless it's someone super cool. I never want another cast member besides Che and scarjos boy. I like the anchors reading stories that have a fun punchline at the end. That's all weekend update needs. It's a tried and true formula. Don't dilute it with other shit.

I watched it online. I'm guessing it was an inside joke; like between rehearsal and live, someone changed the jingle for the graphic. Funny for them, not for us.

What makes it even funnier is that Colin can't go after him with stuff equally as bad without getting canceled.

The most followed TikTok'er in the world makes videos where he first shows other TikTok'ers doing stupid things (like cutting your shirt with scissors because it's stuck in a car door), then points out the stupidity (opens the car door). And his last name, appropriately, is "LAME". This is what people find entertaining?
