First season is great (I bought it). Second season is mostly great (not officially released but I still have it on DVD - a promotional not-for-sale release). Third season (without Alan Arkin) was meh (no need to buy it).

I have all seasons on DVD and watched all but the last season within the last five years. The first few seasons are classic. Once Suzanne "Chrissy Snow" Somers left, it went downhill.

Yes. My point is that you've seen maybe 10 TV shows ever, and this is one of them. Yet you didn't mention it.

I know, but while you're listing shows that most people have seen, you left this out.
 
Minnesota has a lot of hard water. So much so that I go through a lot of lotion due to it drying out my skin. I was having a hard time getting lotion on my back, so I looked online for a back lotion applicator. Sure enough, they sell them on Amazon

Step 2: Move end of device from in front of you to in back of you to apply on your back
Step 3: As you rub your back with end of device, wonder why most of the lotion isn't being spread onto your back
Step 4: Clean lotion from hair, shoulders and floor that dripped off as you moved device in Step 2

I'm trying to pull-up the Silence of the Lambs "She puts the lotion on it's skin" scene, but it's not available. But there's a million parody versions.

Over the years, I've certainly noticed that most people my age had watched WKRP. I think the reason we didn't watch it is this:

WKRP in Cincinnati debuted in 1978 in CBS's Monday 8 p.m. timeslot, competing against ABC's Welcome Back, Kotter and NBC's top-20 show Little House on the Prairie. The show initially earned poor ratings, and WKRP was put on hiatus after only eight episodes.

So while the Christian conservatives were watching Little House, us NY metro Jews were watching Gabe Kaplan and characters like Juan Epstein on Kotter.

I can't find info on what aired against Three's Company, but I'm sure there was something on another channel we watched. Maybe Barney Miller or something. In 1977, we all watched TV together; me, my parents, and maybe my brother. I can't see my dad tuning into such fluff with a ditzy blonde, and watching with us teenage boys and my mom.
 
Three's Company debuted in March 1977 and aired from 9:30 to 10 PM Thursdays on ABC. In September 1977, it moved to 9 PM Tuesdays opposite M*A*S*H on CBS and the short-lived Mulligan's Stew on NBC. In the 1979 season, Three's Company aired opposite The CBS Tuesday Movie and The NBC Tuesday Movie, both of which aired from 9 to 11 PM. (The CBS Tuesday Movie aired through the 1998-99 season.) From May to September 1984, Three's Company aired at 8:30 PM Tuesdays.

From January 1975 to January 1976, Barney Miller aired at 8 PM Thursdays on ABC, then moved to 8:30. In December 1976, it moved to 9 PM. In March-April 1982, it was on at 8:30 PM Fridays. For its final five months, Barney Miller aired at 9 PM Thursdays.

Ok, so a couple of things I notice. First, 9:30 pm on a Thursday is possibly on the late side for a school night. And I still don't know what ran opposite it at the beginning. But certainly when it moved opposite MASH, that spelled the end of it in our household.
