My thoughts on tonight's master's tournament. Game 1 was generally very close and competitive. But I noticed that I knew nearly none of the answers. Matt took the win, and Amy got a point.

Game 2 was crazy, with the two dominant players going head to head. In the end, James trounced Andrew. In fact, Sam tied Andrew going into final, and could've gotten a point for 2nd. But he answered incorrectly.

So James has the overall lead, and Sam and Amy are at risk of dropping out. Which is kind-of nuts, as Amy won the ToC.

That was a depressing round of games. Andrew kept having his score wiped-out. Yet he was able - over and over - to quickly return to the lead, despite the fact he was competing with some of the best players. Sam kept trying, but I think he's done.

Then James destroyed his competition again. Amy got a point to keep her chances alive.

Tonight's regular show was like the opposite of the Master's tournament. Ben walked away with it, and the other two finished with little more than zero. I think it set a record for wrong answers.

We talked about that one. I thought it was a bad call at first, but since Benedict and Benedick are different names like Chris and Christ, I kinda get it. He also emphasized the t when he pronounced it. It sucks, because he was a fun player. At least he’ll be back in the next champions line-up.

BTW, I’ve never heard of Benedick.

Freaking Shakespeare had a different word for everything. That’s why I hated reading his stuff. It was so distracting trying to figure out the words, I couldn’t figure out the meaning of the paragraphs without reading them a few times.

Clearly this is William Shakespeare's fault.

In the Jeopardy Masters finale, Ken had the best line -

One of the category questions had the answer of George Santos - which Mattea got correct.

Ken joked about them getting the right answers.

"I don't get to say this very much, but George Santos is correct," he said.

That was an AWESOME line! The Mrs had to back that bit up to hear is again it was so good.
I enjoyed the tournament but it felt like it went on about a week too long.
Pretty much. On the one hand, it's kinda fun to see the titans go head to head, but on the other, it's just a little more interesting to see someone new get discovered.

I just finished getting through the Masters' Tournament last night. I'm not a conspiracy theory kinda guy, but look at the 2022 Tournament of Champions brackets

The 3 finalists were the first 3 eliminated in the Masters. And the other two Masters finalists had lost their semi games in the ToC. But anyway, Matthea came very very close to beating the self-described asshole. If she had bet a little less, she'd be the winner.

I found it odd to watch a half-hour game, and then see the next game with two of the same contestants.

I suppose it’s normal after watching a Jeopardy Masters tournament, that all the contestants seem abnormally weak lately. I wonder what James and Mattea and Amy think while watching regular commoners struggle their way through an episode.
