Wow, that guy Paolo made a clean sweep of the ToC, with 3 straight wins. Even 15 game winner Scott Riccardi was powerless to stop him. I don't even know what's next.

Explain what I just saw. They started airing the JIT (invitational) tonight. There was a question referencing the previous Patriots vs. Seahawks game, and then Ken said "a rematch is coming up this weekend".

I'm pretty sure the show was taped long before the super bowl match-up was set. So did they record multiple reactions? Or was that inserted before airing?

It makes me think of this

The only combination of Rams/Seahawks vs Patriots/Broncos superbowl matches that was not a rematch was Rams/Broncos. So 3/4 outcomes were covered by that statement. Of course it depends on how he said it as to whether he was specifically referring to Patriots/Seahawks.

He said "Yes, excited for the rematch this weekend". So that does cover several scenarios, but they must've recorded others (or perhaps planned to omit it in the broadcast).

Wow, what an ending to tonight's Invitational tournament game! I won't give it away, but I'd love to hear what Aaron thought of the betting strategies.

The fact that Allison literally wrote down what she hoped would happen - and it happened exactly as she wished - was jaw-dropping.

And neither of the guys decided to play the down side and bet nothing.

Yeah but did you guys know this one?
I think if you gave me a minute, I might have come up with it - or not. It's one of those where I heard the correct answer, and said "oh yeah".

Last week, there was a category about Massachusetts colleges, which was more tailored to me, just as this was tailored to you.

Kind of what I was thinking honestly. Most people in or from North Carolina would get it.

However outside of NC, I think people would either get Chapel Hill and Durham because of the Duke-UNC basketball rivalry or would get Raleigh and Durham because of the Airport. Less people would know all three probably.

It was fun to see it on Jeopardy! though.

I had Raleigh.
With another 30 seconds would have had a low confidence Durham, with 2 more minutes and Google, I'd have crushed them all.
For those who didn't see the show, these were the scores going into Final Jeopardy

It was too perfect. She was the smartest dumb person on the stage.

Apparently so. According to this interview, she schemed the whole thing. Quite brilliant if this is true.

She knew that she wasn’t going to win, since the men were way ahead of her, so she concocted a plan. “The DJ round, I told myself to hold back and NOT NEG,” Betts wrote on Reddit. “I really didn’t want to go red as I found it challenging to get in when we all knew the answer. As the game got down to the wire, I looked at the scores and realized I didn’t have enough ground to overtake them.

But they were very close to one another. So my best chance was to try to force a tie, as them each having to bet it all was my only path to victory. For the last few clues, I held back, watching them volley. Then, with two clues remaining, the scores were 7200, 7600 with $800 in play. I knew I HAD to get one of the last two $400 clues to leave the right amount on the board. Somehow the buzzer gods smiled on me, and I managed to nab the second-to-last clue, then didn’t buzz on the final clue, just praying Isaac got it instead of Josh,” she continued.

“Miraculously, he did. Going into FJ, I felt pretty confident the all-in bet was their best option here, both because they wanted to win but also because 7600 wasn’t going to be enough for a WC (hah). So I wrote my joke response and wagered my birthday, just in case one of them did a wonky bet.”

I can picture some of that being her legitimate strategy. I'd kind of like to see the last 8 or 10 questions to watch her expressions.

No matter what, it was fantastic.
