With this news, will the Stern show return to the studio?

NEW YORK (AP) — The nation’s top public health agency relaxed its COVID-19 guidelines Thursday, dropping the recommendation that Americans quarantine themselves if they come into close contact with an infected person. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also said people no longer need to stay at least 6 feet away from others.

The CDC previously said that if people who are not up to date on their COVID-19 vaccinations come into close contact with a person who tests positive, they should stay home for at least five days. Now the agency says quarantining at home is not necessary, but it urges those people to wear a high-quality mask for 10 days and get tested after five.

The agency continues to say that people who test positive should isolate from others for at least five days, regardless of whether they were vaccinated. CDC officials advise that people can end isolation if they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication and they are without symptoms or the symptoms are improving.

I'd think the news about polio in the water would be equally scary to him.

6/4/2002 - conversation between Howard and Richard Belzer

Howard: Since [Belz's new show] is on XM Radio, I doubt anybody will ever hear it.
Belz: Millions of people have XM, it's the hottest new thing in the world.
Howard: Alright.
Belz: You know that.
Howard: Sure I do. Nobody even has a receiver.
Belz: What?
Howard: They haven't even figured out how to build a receiver yet.
Belz: Well, when they do...
Robin: ...Belz will be there.
Belz: It's nine bucks for a hundred stations. 24 hours a day.
Robin: You gotta hold a satellite dish outside your window?
Howard: You gotta stick it on your head.
Belz: So what? Think about the reception! And if you have certain fillings, you can hear it in your teeth.

10/4/2004 - news article

Stern announced Wednesday that he'll join Sirius Satellite Radio in January 2006 in what is being billed as a five-year, multimillion dollar contract. Calling satellite radio "the next big thing," ... "It's time to go," Stern said on his show, noting he hasn't been happy for a long time. "I believe more in satellite than I do in radio."

He did the same with AGT. When he was on it, it was worthy of discussing for hours every day. After he left, he was like "who even watches these shows anymore?", and Robin was all "right!".

Earlier this year, he was even mocking the concept of being a dancer, and having people tune-in to watch you dance. What a hypocrite.

Well we do know that when XM courted him in 2000 (to start in 2001), that they had broadcasters, but no listeners.

If he wasn't keeping up with it (and really, why should he have?), then I can easily see him make comments that were obsolete...partly out of his own ignorance and partially to smear a potential rival.

Someone I know is some sort of Corvette nerd and had a really rare Corvette... anyway, he got an invite to go to Jay Leno's Garage.

I'd be like: "You stole Dave's job. You stole Conan's job. You'd probably steal your own damn garage job if you could."

One good thing that came out of Jay Leno? By stealing Stuttering John, we got Richard and Sal. I suppose that by Dave leaving NBC, that allowed Conan to get a job there, although I suppose it's possible that if Dave went to NBC at 11:30, that still would have allowed Conan to take the later slot.

They had six TiVo units at Sirius (probably one tuner per unit back then) so that JD could do his job of recording funny stuff off TV. Other than the occasional news anchor saying "shits the basketball" instead of "shoots the basketball" or a "Baba Booey!" during a golf round, what TV bits does Howard play these days?

What the hell happened to Jeff the Bore? IIRC, someone said that they stopped having him on because "I need money" and complaining about lack of air time isn't funny.

Maybe I'm drinking too much Howard Stern Kool-Aid, but Gayle King is talking on ESPN now and here's someone who did absolutely nothing.

If there's someone who rode coattails to fame, wow...Gayle King.

I'm thinking how I'd reprogram the channels.

If Howard (or someone) wanted to axe Howard 101, they probably could ...other than the fact he's contractually obligated to have two channels.

7am - 10am -- Howard Stern Show
Immediately after until noon -- Wrap-Up
Noon - 5pm -- Old show clips
5pm - 7pm -- Howard Stern Show (begins as work ends for that drive home.)
7pm - 10pm -- Howard Stern Show (west coast drive home and east coast prime time.)
10pm - 1am -- Howard Stern Show (west coast prime time.)
1am - 7am -- Old show clips

I'd love to see Thursday and/or Fridays return to This Day In Howard History.

Weekends would be Saturday Soundtracks every three hours starting at 9am ET Saturday until 6am ET Sunday and then old clips.

The app would continue to be the home of the downloadable show, WUS and all sorts of classic Howard from years past.

The only people this would hurt would be people who don't have unlimited data and a way to hook their phones to their car...in other words, people who can't listen online 24/7. I'd imagine there's still people out there who are die-hard fans who need to listen via a satellite.

Yeah, it'd probably F over a lot of the Wack Pack. I'd imagine some of them know to "press 1 for Howard" and their radio unit goes to Howard 100.

In November 2020, Sidibe announced her engagement to Brandon Frankel, a talent manager with Cameo.

...and how did Howard never mention that? Of course, that was during his talks of Peloton, political stuff and COVID and all that...but I wonder if that crossed his radar.

Gary in his Atlantic Records shirt with that dopey "I want you buh-buh back" tape.

Where the damn hell is my "Atlantic Pieces of Vinyl" shirt?

Jackie: "There's probably a broad working the camera." -- And any one of us can easily imagine Artie with the same exact comment.

PLEASE ... Someone bamboozle Sal into saying "The queen died in Baltimore" when she really died at Balmoral.

I wonder who the Iron Shiek hates more...Hulk Hogan or Randy Savage.

Today's kids have Millie Bobby Brown.
80s kids had Milli Vanilli.

Both agents worked equally hard I'm sure.
