On Wednesday, we heard about the Bon Jovi Bukakke Party (shut down by station management) and the Howard vs Booey tennis match.

Holy crap! Ross Zapin even gave some input as to the US Open Sores...he was the one who got the Coliseum booked.

Part of me wants to ask "wtf is this?"

But most of me is saying "I don't want the answer"

They were gonna do a party at Scores with Bon Jovi there playing music. They even took measurements for a stage.

Well, Tom Cheapasano came in and said he didn't like the word "bukakke" being in it because they couldn't sell it to the sponsors. Howard blew up and then was kvetching over the word bukakke being a Japanese word meaning "to pour on top of." Howard said he could go out and find 10 guys who don't know what bukakke is.

Tom suggested changing it to the Bon Jovi Dirty Sanchez Party.

Rahsaan and Gary (no Jon today) even talked about how Lonnie would set Gary up with funny money and it'd be gone quite fast even though they'd get the rookie dancers. Booey would divide it up into stacks of $200 and he'd tell them it'd be enough for three songs...well, it was gone.

It was a good setup they had. They'd get the red carpet treatment and funny money in exchange for free promotion on the air.

Of course, then Lonnie went to Rick's Cabaret and Ronnie became RickeyMan...but I do believe Lonnie went back to Scores (maybe not?) ...then Howard kind of stopped talking about the strip clubs, but that was still well before the show cleaned up.

One thing I'll never understand is why people love to hate.

They hated how Eric from Hoboken would always call in about Miss Howard TV and how hot she was...but now they want the naked lesbians back on the show (and the safe money says they'll cringe at how old Howard is compared to age of said lesbians. Rappin Granny was at least 84 when she died. Howard is now 68. Do that math yourself, kids.)

They hate Robin talking. They hate Robin getting facts wrong. They hated the live reads during the news. What'll cause the haters to stop bitching about the news going away? (Obviously if it returns.)

Is this what happens when someone who got started in the 70s outlasts The Future?

Maybe that one exec was right...the haters listen longer because they want to hear what he'll say next.

Me watching election news and goofing on myself: "Hey, there's someone running last name Kenyatta...isn't that the singer that Howard always used to mention? Oh wait...that's Zendaya."

Wednesday's Sternthology (now on the SiriusXM app) included an interview with Weird Al. Howard played a lot of clips of his various songs and talked about how they all came together.

Go take a listen to it.

We're just about at that time of year.

Based off last year (plus some educated guessing), Howard returns live on June 6th. He's then live for all of June before going on that summer hiatus until the day after Labor Day.

Hopefully they do some of that various fun programming over the summer, but we'll see. I'd love some themed weeks... "Richard and Sal's Prank Week" where they play prank bits.

And yeah, this would have been a lot more manageable if Howard 101 wasn't a shell of what it used to be. Live programming between two channels for almost 18 hours a day? Epic.

This week is "Stern Show A-Z" on Howard 101. A is for ayahuasca. Robin was talking about her shaman.

Today on Stern Show A-Z, we had F...for the Final Hour at K-Rock. We heard speeches from Artie, Fred, Robin and Howard.

I never heard this live and there seems to be very few clips online (not that I've really looked), but it's great to hear it and I'm kind of surprised they're playing it with all the hype of moving to "ehh ehh ehh" with the naked lesbians, freedom from government and the religious right, etc.

Howard said he liked "carts better than digital equipment." Even before COVID, it seemed to be a long time since we heard something like "Robin page in green" or "Gary preview page two in blue."

Turbo (the app) has a Memorial Day countdown of their top 50.

Being SiriusXM, they put extra content onto the "on demand" thing.

With about an hour left, I heard some familiar breathing and then..."Dig deep down to Planet X."

It's such a great song.

Next week:
Thoughts on Johnny v. Amber
"Donald Trump" checks in
Michael Che stops by.

Booey would love a sitting president. He's also working on one of the greatest athletes of all time. The 6/2 Wrap-Up Show has all sorts of cool insight as to guests.

Joe C
Wee Man
Verne Troyer
Meinhardt Raabe (and others from the Wizard of Oz)

Am I missing anyone? I'm not sure Beetle, Hank and Eric are on the same...ahem...level as those above.

I think it was somewhere on YouTube...I saw a comment about how Nedly Mandingo III died of COVID.

Huh.
