aka getting close to the end of my DJ "career".
38: OUT OF MIND, OUT OF SIGHT - THE MODELS
I always thought this one should've gotten way higher on the charts than it did. I think I still have the promo vinyl around here somewhere.
37: IF SHE KNEW WHAT SHE WANTS - THE BANGLES
Oh, Susanna...
36: THE LOVE PARADE - DREAM ACADEMY
A friend of mine was listening to their catalog last week ( one of those "An Album A Day" deals, & this year he's going chronologically thru a band's output before moving on to the next band ). Anyway, these guys hung in there longer than I realized.
31: WEST END GIRLS - PET SHOP BOYS
One of the rare mid-80's tunes that I never tire of, for whatever reason.
29: WHEN THE HEART RULES THE MIND - GTR
The inspiration for one of my all-time favorite reviews. One word : "SHT".
20: TUFF ENUFF - FABULOUS THUNDERBIRDS
I always enjoyed that they had an album called "Butt Rockin'".
18: MOVE AWAY - CULTURE CLUB
I heard this sitting in the bank drive-thru - forgot how much I like this song.
15: I WANNA BE A COWBOY - BOYS DON'T CRY
Hated it then, hate it now. Although they were responsible for my getting to interview Warner Hodges from Jason & The Scorchers - one of my all-time favorite bands. Somebody thought it was a good idea for the Scorchers to open for BDC ( it wasn't ), & since we presented the show I had my choice of who to interview. I picked Warner, & my boss was not happy. Which made sense...we never played the Scorchers. But I wasn't passing up the chance to talk to someone whose work I loved so much. I've seen Warner a few times since over the years, & we're friends on Facebook. The world is weird.
10: SOMETHING ABOUT YOU - LEVEL 42
This one falls into the same category as the Pet Shop Boys - a song I've heard a gazillions times but never tire of. This one in particular gives me a warm feeling all over that I've never been able to explain. Just a perfect mid-80's pop song.
6: GREATEST LOVE OF ALL - WHITNEY HOUSTON
( stomps feet ) "SEXUAL CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Psychedelic Furs "Pretty In Pink" - peaked at #41
The inspiration for one of my all-time favorite reviews. One word : "SHT".29: WHEN THE HEART RULES THE MIND - GTR

Those guys were killer musicians. They used some crazy time signatures and jazzy chords.10: SOMETHING ABOUT YOU - LEVEL 42
