He can put in a driveway to access his property, although he'd have to contend with a 50 ft dropoff and a watershed conservation area. He originally put it in to get approval for a road to access condos in 2007. That was rejected, and there are no condos. Now there's a house on his property (owned by his son), and another town road to access it.
 
If he puts in a driveway, you should put in a sculpture that looks like baboons having but sex while eating baby pandas from the driveway, and something pleasant from your side. Every time they drive in, they will have to look at it.

We found out last year that we have access to one of the septic tank covers, but not all 3. And one of the other 2 has the outlet filter. So after much consternation, we had the landscape guy rebuild it. Here is Wall 2: The Sequel

As you can see, it appears to be simply a more aesthetically interesting wall, with the convenience of steps added. But it looks the way it does because it's now completely off the septic tank. We weren't sure this would ever get done, but it's done. So we're happy. And now we can have the driveway paved.
 
As I mentioned elsewhere, when an uncle of mine and his wife died (whom I met once when I was 17), they had no will; and as one of the children of his brother, I got a small cut of the estate. It happened to be just about what I needed to get my driveway paved. Between yesterday and today, they did the whole job.

The paving included the area behind the garage, and we also had a cobblestone apron put in front of the garage doors, as well as the beginning of the access path to the walkout basement. Those two areas were connected with a row of cobblestones, which lined up with the end of the walkway. Too bad Wolf isn't here to see that the walkway no longer "just ends without connecting to the driveway", as he once complained.

First they scraped off the top layer of the existing gravel, and then spread a top base.

Everybody has a snowblower, or hires a plow truck. It's not really that big; it's about 100 feet, but most of it is narrow.

We've been having it plowed, then use a snowblower for cleanup. But Mrs. Scotch doesn't like how they push it into a corner, with no place to go. She prefers just snowblowing. Plus, I'm not allowed to move snow any more. So we just bought this

It's a Simplicity Pro model. Capable, but very nimble and easy to operate. We'll see how it goes, but we will be in control.
 
That looks like a monsta!
They have the ones that attach to the front of riding mowers that look pretty cool for a big drive like that.
Then you could ride in style with a nice warm cup of hot chocolate.
 
I've got a similar looking snow blower. I forget which brand. It's red, but not Toro. I think it's Craftsman.

We've got a lowercase h shaped driveway (semi-circle but a straight line from street to garage). The wife and I shoveled the straight line area for the first couple years, but after 3 car accidents (none were her fault) she was taken off shoveling, raking, etc. And I said I'm not shoveling it alone.

Funny you mention that. A lawn tractor - that can handle an interchangeable mowing deck or snow blower attachment - runs about 6 grand. And I'm not sure if that includes the attachments. It's a whole big thing, which is exactly the conversation that led to the decision to pave the driveway.

Mrs. Scotch wanted one of those interchangeable mowers, or a used Kubota tractor. And I said, that if we're going to spend lots of money to maintain the driveway, why don't we start by getting it paved? Wouldn't that be better than having a rusting tractor sitting next to the garage all the time?
 
My yard is small enough that A mover like that would only take 2 passes to be done.

My snowblower is kind of mid sized compared to yours (stud) and it works fine, but it's really slow.
