I'm officially done with Smash Burger as of today! I had one burger years ago and it was f'ing nasty, about a year later I tried giving them a shot again and it was pretty good. About a month later, now today a co-worker and I went there order a burger and it wasn't an hamburger, it kinda look like some kind of gross experiment. Even my other co-workers agreed, I asked for my money back. They try to offer a new hamburger or a free one on my next visit. I made sure, I got my money back and I wished I took a picture of that Nasty Burger and show it to people. But I am officially done with Smash Burger!
I've been to Johnny Rockets a couple of times years ago, but I just went to one again. Now that the Five Guys chain is popular around us, Johnny Rockets seems bizarre, because the two places look identical, but JR has waiters. It's like walking into a McDonald's and having a waiter bring menus. The meal was good at Rockets, but it felt strange.
I think that 5 Guys is better than Rockets. (At least around here.)

I just had a smashburger & it was good. But I love, love, IN-N-out burger.
They would go great with those crispy fries....

Stay away from Nasty Burger and I love In & Out Burger also, they are starting to appear in more states little by little and the awesome thing is, there own by one franchise owner and there not a chain.
i have a 9am doctor's appointment for my dad tomorrow and while that's no fun they usually turn into a 5 guys lunch on the way back. last time i went to 5 guys was when i posted about it here after doing the same thing. that must have been months ago. the only one in the area is practically walking distance from my father's place so i only ever go when i'm with him. for a place that's just a step or two above mcdonalds, i do really like their food.
like i've talked about before i am determined to test the limits of 5 guys "free peanuts" policy. i biked over there today and got my usual burger but as i was leaving i noticed there was no one in the restaurant so i took even more this time. i normally take somewhere around 10 or 12 scoops and am embarrassed that some other customer might be looking at me. today i didn't have that problem and got 16 scoops. it's my biggest haul yet.
PS. if i get arrested one day for taking too many of the free peanuts, violate my probation and wind up back in jail but this time for 90 days it will simultaneously be the most sad and hilarious thing ever.
