Last night I encountered a case of "sidewalk rage". I was walking on a sidewalk in an outdoor mall, on my way to the movies (so I hadn't had anything to drink yet, important point). I was on the right side of the sidewalk. A man and woman were coming the other way. I stayed to the right but made sure to get right up against the edge so they would have plenty of room.
They might have been leaving the theater, so maybe they had been drinking.
I hear the guy cursing after they pass. He keeps doing it, so I turn around to see who he is cursing and he's cursing me.
It just struck me that this sounds like a Koop post.
I was shocked. I asked the guy why he was mad and he update have gone around them. I wanted to talk to him some more, but he kept backing up faster and faster once I started walking toward him. He told me not to come any closer or he would kick my ass. I didn't want that, so I just stood there while he walked away.
There is a little patio next to the sidewalk where people eat and drink at the movie theater. I turned to ask the people in there if they knew why he was so mad and they seemed as bewildered as I was.
It was exciting, and a bad bad part of me wished he would have tried to kick my ass. It's been a very long time since I've been in a fight. I once considered myself a pacifist, but now I'm not so sure.
