This is why Mrs. Scotch and I don't do trivia night anymore. One of us would insist it's 7-Up, and the other wants to guess Sprite. So first there's the argument about which guess gets picked. And then, god forbid if we went with MY guess, and it ends up being wrong (or worse, her guess). That's the end of the fun night.^^^ That's what makes a good trivia question. It makes people do exactly what you just did.

Haha! We dubbed him the buzzer masturbator guy. He was another one of those frantic buzzer pressers. Also, he had a lot more fat hanging off his face than in that picture.
This morning on 'dumber than the show trivia' the question was 'what is the common name for the clavicle'. While I was saying 'neck bone... no.... shoulder bone...' the contestant on the radio said 'collar bone' and I thought DAMMIT I shouldn't be stumbling on this one - I should know this immediately!
Another question, that I said the wrong thing then immediately corrected myself on, was "Molly Ringwald played the character Claire Standish in which film?"

Exactly what my first thought was, then I quickly switched to Breakfast Club ... which is the correct answer.
This is what happens when we play trivia. A lot of reasonable answers which turn out to be wrong. And there's no partial credit.
Last night, we had dumb and dumber. Dumb was contestant James saying "Let's make it a true Daily Double, Ken", and then losing all his money. But dumber was returning champ Curtis doing the exact same thing on the next question. Here we have two goose eggs, and (not surprisingly) eventual winner Lisa; who managed to win, despite having some kind of alien creature on her chest.
We had a wonderful weekend on Cape Cod, celebrating our anniversary at the Wellfleet Oysterfest. I got home just in time to catch the guy with the big beard defend his win on Jeopardy.
But guess what? It's preempted by football. Wtf? Doesn't MNF start at 8 or 8:30? Is it even on ABC?

What exactly is going on? For decades, there was a Monday game, but no Thursday game. Now there's a Thursday game and sometimes 2 Monday games.
Ratings and money I guess. Now they even have nationally televised college football games on Friday nights. It’s weird.
