No surprises. Will never make the top 40
My older daughter was born that year, so I was less focused on top 40 radio.I was 12 at that time, and listening a lot to the radio. So those songs kind of stuck with me.
Pretty much the same for me. The pop stuff I kind of liked usually had a connection to a girl I was dating, or some place or event that was important at the time.I was Class of '88. I was happy to see hard rock getting more mainstream attention (GNR, Poison, Cinderella, Whitesnake etc), but I started getting into alternative at that time too (Depeche, Frankie, REM etc in '87/'88, Peppers, Cure, 10K Maniacs etc in '89). That stuff showed up in the top 40 here and there but wouldn't be all over the place until a few years later.
Not surprised, but it as a fun tune.#64 Donnie Iris "Do You Compute?"
I’m shocked this didn’t break 40!#80 INXS "Don't Change"
It’s too bad these two didn’t make it higher.#85 REM "Radio Free Europe"
