Another Map Thread

I saw that map and saw Aerosmith for NH. If I remember right, they're all from Massachusetts. I think Joe Perry and Steven Tyler met in NH but it was summer camp situation or something?

aerosmith first ever gig 1970.webp

The members met in Sunapee NH from their respective bands, when they formed into Aerosmith. I think the map plays a little loose with the locations. I agree that most consider Aerosmith a Boston band.

Okay, I just now showed this to Pam and she made some very reasonable arguments about why it's bullshit right away.

How is it possible that every state has a different artist? That seems weird, right? Shouldn't a bunch of the states be Taylor Swift? I don't think there's any denying that she is by far the most popular musician in America and has been for multiple years now.

I think it is "home state" meaning Nirvana only competed (and lost to Kenny G) in Washington. Taylor Swift can only win whatever state she comes from.

I think it is "home state"

That makes sense and by my original response to the map that's clearly what I was thinking. Also, I just didn't analyze it that much.

And you're right, it says from each US state. So that must mean the state that the artist is actually from because Phish is from Vermont and Dave is from Virginia. So yeah it fits. I can see how Pam would call bullshit right away though because that's a fucking unclear way of phrasing it.

Once again, inspired by a random Facebook article

The shortest driving route through all 48 contiguous US states (Takes 113 hours)

The link allows you to get a larger version of the map, but it's hard to actually figure out the roads used in the route.

The petition organizers even have their own plans for Disneyland in Southern California: “We’ll rename it Hans Christian Andersenland."

Brilliant retort.

If you read the article (which I'm sure you did :bugout:), it only appears this way for the US domain. Outside of the US, it either says Mexico or both. So you can be our test case.

I didn't read the article. The story didn't need more than the 1 line headline. On my google it says "Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)".
Oh it will work for him soon when Trump annex Canada as the 51st state.
