Everything as far as the world goes has been perfect over the last 3 weeks. Eagles won the super bowl... Which is by far the most important thing in my entire life....and most everything I support (with some exceptions... Like ending birthright citizenship) is coming true.

It's been a really fun end of end of January and half of February.

Sorry, I know that's a little political. I just had to make the point about the one thing that I really oppose. I was going to just say everything I support is coming true and then that would be vague enough to not exactly be political. But I just really don't like birthright citizenship being ended. The first court already ruled against ending it and I hope all the higher courts do the same. But that's the one single thing that sticks out to me as being wrong. Everything else and I'm sure I'm missing some stuff but everything else I've heard about is exactly why I did what I did at the polls.

I won't talk any more politics. All of you can talk about how I'm wrong or whatever for supporting all the other stuff. I won't reply. And also sorry Hectic.

I'm not going to get into politics, but I find it ironic that the one person on this forum who would be best to keep his opinions buried deep down - not as a kind of censorship, but just to avoid hatred and anger - is the one person begging to talk about it.

And this is why we don/t talk about politics.
We all get along just fine when it's not discussed.

We're getting too close to getting into it as it stands lately, and I'll have to start getting more strict about enforcing the no politics rule,
Posts will start getting deleted and threads will be locked.
Even roundabout ;);) "this isn't political" posts will be removed.

I hear you and you're right about the political guidelines that we all follow and we should have never brought up the body of water around Louisiana and Florida and Texas and I should not have kept it going.... But the quote I took and put into the Koopland thread is not something I thought was purposefully mean or anything. But it made me sad and wanted to express why that was in (probably rambling) detail.

And I say that probably rambling thing as a joke because most of my posts around here are, but that one I edited like a thousand times to make sure I expressed myself the way I wanted to.

Also back to maps. Blueprints are kind of like maps for architects. So now I hate maps by association.. Yeah ban me for that mfer, I dare you. Hahahahaha.

I fully agree with the no politics things. But IMO sometimes something happens (like renaming a body of water) that I feel can be discussed without bringing politics into it, if people play it smart. For example, "Google has changed it but Apple hasn't" was an interesting thing to learn. And me posting "And up next 'Red White and Blueland'" seems like something worth mentioning. But "Here's how I feel about the person who called for the rename..." is off-limits.

IMO anyway

No map, but geography related.

Quick, the most populous city in Virginia?
Richmond, right??

No.
Virginia Beach.
459,000
1.8 million metro population. 37th largest in the US.

Who knew? It’s crazy how a city not having a major sports team can make a big city kind of go under the radar.

Got to be Richmond?

Dude Aaron, don't make me look like an idiot. You say quick what's the most populated city and then I just respond without reading the rest of your post. Okay. Yeah, VA Beach makes sense.

In case anyone is wondering, the ten most populous cities in Greenland are – in order – Nuuk, Sisimiut, Ilulissat, Aasiaat, Qaqortoq, Maniitsoq, Tasiilaq, Uummannaq, Narsaq and Paamiut. I wonder if I could play any of those names in Scrabble. You can download a map of Nuuk here:

Mexico threatens to sue Google over name change of Gulf of Mexico on US maps

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said the renaming is “incorrect.”

“What Google is doing here is changing the name of the continental shelf of Mexico and Cuba, which has nothing to do with Trump’s decree, which applied only to the US continental shelf,” adding that Trump’s decree “only changed the name within his own continental shelf, which extends 22 nautical miles from the US coast—not the entire Gulf.”

Easy fix!

A Chrome extension lets you change the Gulf of America back. Following the Gulf’s name change in Google Maps last week, Developer Bryce Bostwick created the Restore the Gulf of Mexico extension to revert it back, which he says in a YouTube video is “the world’s smallest form of protest.”

Where I was born. Moved from there when I was 3 and have been in Colorado since. It's a military town, Oceana Naval Air Station (where my dad was stationed), Norfolk Naval Air Station, and a few army bases are in the area. Also a short drive up 95 to D.C..

For the record, Colorado Springs, Colorado, also a military town, sits at 480,000 population and has no major sports teams in the area (all the teams are up I-25 in Denver). But it's also not the biggest city in Colorado, by a long shot!
