Jethro Tull,
Having seen them recently, I've done some digging into them; and it appears they (or maybe just Ian) don't like the HoF, and would not accept induction.

Can't believe they're not already in:
Jane’s Addiction
I like the band. But I don't think they've contributed anywhere near enough to the music industry to warrant consideration. Especially when their nomination bumps out others.

Chubby Checker & the Dreamlovers' version of Hank Ballard's The Twist went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 1960. A year later, after Checker's Let's Twist Again became a top-ten hit, The Twist was re-released. In January 1962, it went to number one again. Checker has had 23 top-40 hits, eight top tens and two number ones – three number ones, if you count The Twist twice. He is still not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame – and this year is the first time he's appeared on the ballot!

Among the many other deserving artists who are still not in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame are Phil Collins, Bryan Adams, Cyndi Lauper, Joe Cocker, Billy Idol, Sting, Kansas, Boston, Devo, Grand Funk, INXS, Iron Maiden, Toto, King Crimson, Mötley Crüe, Jethro Tull, Bad Company, Three Dog Night, Tears For Fears, Smashing Pumpkins, the B-52's, the J. Geils Band and Huey Lewis & the News.

Bad Company - Ha! I just posted about them in the other thread, and saw comments about how they were never inducted.

Phish - Koop is having a real good February!

I should write a parody titled All I Want For Christmas Is Induction Into The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame – but she isn't worth my time and effort. :p

I think I'm the only one around here who doesn't vehemently dislike her, like Janet, her earlier stuff is better (and in Mariah's case, her unplugged album is actually pretty good!) Fell off a cliff after the first few efforts, but I wouldn't dispute her being in since Janet already is.

Put Weird Al in, and have the artists he parodied do his parody version of their songs.

The Cure had several big hits like "Love Song" and "Friday I'm In Love." They should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The thing about Mariah is that she was the biggest hit maker of the 90s. An entire decade. She’s a lock for this, if not this year, then soon.

The ChartMasters music industry data site has lists of the "most successful artists by decade" based on sales and streaming. A detailed explanation of how the rankings are determined is here:

Mariah Carey was the biggest artist of the 1990s. Céline Dion was second and Garth Brooks was third. The site also has a forum in case anyone here wants another place to complain about Mariah.....or Nickelback.....or the Beatles......or You Light Up My Life.
